Who We Are
Meet the 8 individuals who work hard each year to make CFP a success.

SHANE CORDES
Shane has been involved with the program for several years. In 2014, he hosted an Irish teen alongside his daughter Lauren. Shane has sponsored CFP for several years and coordinates events, as well as sets up CFP's annual golf tournament. Shane is a pivotal part of making CFP run as smoothly as it does.
DENNIS CONAGHAN
In 1998, Dennis Conaghan, a teacher at Kansas City’s Notre Dame de Sion High School, established contact with then Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast, Mrs. Marie Moore, and discussed his interest in resurrecting a program to bring young people from Northern Ireland to the Kansas City area in support of the incipient peace in the North. In short order, Conaghan helped to draw up the blueprint of a program, and a motion was put forth to the Padraig Pearse Division of AOH in 1999 who unanimously supported it and established the AOH Children for Peace in Ireland Committee.

DOMINIC MOONEY
Dominic has been working with CFP since 2006. He volunteers each year as a chaperone and comes to Kansas City with his wife Beth and son Aodhan. Aside from with coming to the US with the teens, Dominic works alongside the other chaperones to run the weekend retreats for the teens in Belfast before and after their trip to Kansas City.
RAYMOND STEWART
Raymond has been employed as a Community Development Officer for Belfast City Council for the last twenty five years. He is based in the south of the city. Raymond and his wife, Majella, have been working with CFP since 2006. Each year, he comes with the Irish teens as a chaperone. He also works with the teens for several months in Belfast prior to their arrival in Kansas City alongside Majella, Dominic, and Beth. Raymond and Majella have three children who have participated in the program. In his free time, Raymond enjoys to watch TV, walk his dog Olly, and swim.

MAJELLA STEWART
Majella is employed as a secretary in a nursery school with the Belfast Education & Library Board (BELB). She has been a volunteer for CFP since 2007, working as a chaperone coming to Kansas City with the teens as well as working on their weekend programs in Belfast prior to arrival. Majella is married to Raymond Stewart, and they have three children who have participated in CFP over the years. She loves to cook, watch TV, and walk her dog Olly.

BETH MOONEY

KIM KUEHN
Kim has been with the program for several years, but prior to her direct involvement she was always a very strong support towards CFP. To date, Kim is a pivotal part of the program as she coordinates events each year. She is what helps the program run as smoothly each year - she coordinates events for the teens as well as plans the going away party, golf tournaments fundraiser, and much more.
LAUREN CORDES
Lauren Cordes, Shane's daughter, is a senior at Notre Dame de Sion and has been a part of the program for as long as she can remember. She always tagged along to events with her dad and looked forward to hosting a teen in her future. In 2014, Lauren hosted an Irish teen and created a lifelong friendship. Lauren loves the program and has continued to participate past her hosting year. Lauren plans to continue working with Children for Peace after high school because it has become such a pivotal part in her life.
